CVE-2020-1493

Diese Schwachstelle tritt in Outlook 2019 (16.0.12624.20424) auf, das unter Windows 10 1909 x64 installiert ist. Außerdem handelt es sich bei dieser Schwachstelle um eine Zero-Click-Schwachstelle.

TLDR;

Ich habe diesen Fehler mit dem winafl-Fuzzer gefunden. Der Fehler trat beim Parsen einer MS-TNEF-Datei auf, die ein Anhang einer EML-Datei ist. Die anfällige Methode liest und verwendet Out-of-Bounds-Daten für den vftable-Zeiger. Wenn ein Angreifer diese Schwachstelle erfolgreich ausnutzt, löst dies eine Remotecodeausführung aus.
