Enumerations RFC1157-अनुरूप सिस्टम्स के विरुद्ध हो रही हैं। भारी काम pysnmp द्वारा किया जाता है।

hosts फ़ाइल प्रति पंक्ति एक टारगेट का समर्थन करती है। खाली पंक्तियाँ और # से शुरू होने वाली पंक्तियाँ अनदेखी की जाती हैं।
जब -o का उपयोग बिना फ़ाइलनाम के किया जाता है, तो snmpen प्रत्येक सफल टारगेट के लिए <target>.txt का उपयोग करके एक फ़ाइल लिखता है।
सिस्टम सूचना अनुभाग होस्ट के लिए पता लगाए गए समर्थित SNMP संस्करणों को भी दिखाता है (वर्तमान में SNMPv1 और SNMPv2c डिटेक्शन)।
