La vulnerabilidad es causada por un desbordamiento de búfer en una operación memcpy al analizar paquetes KNXnet/IP especialmente diseñados en el monitor de mensajes de grupo (también conocido como Falcon). Un exploit de prueba de concepto correspondiente que fue probado en una versión afectada de ETS instalada en Windows XP SP3 se encuentra a continuación. El exploit de prueba de concepto genera el paquete UDP que desencadena la vulnerabilidad y debería al menos bloquear la aplicación (requiere python y scapy para ejecutarse).
Dado que esto es solo un PoC, la cadena ROP no fue cuidadosamente seleccionada y puede requerir adaptación para reproducir los resultados deseados en su sistema.
