The DedSec Project is a broad educational toolkit for Termux on Android, Ubuntu, Kali Linux, and Linux Mint, bringing together scripts, utilities, local web interfaces, and practice environments in one place. Its purpose is to help users learn how tools work, understand defensive awareness, and organize common workflows from a single project.

How To Install And Setup The DedSec Project

Requirements

ComponentMinimum Specification
Supported systemTermux on Android, Ubuntu, Kali Linux, or Linux Mint
StorageMinimum 6GB free space
RAMMinimum 2GB
InternetNeeded for first installation and updates

Installation time: A complete installation can take approximately 20–50 minutes, depending on your internet connection and device processor.

Storage warning: The 6GB requirement covers the DedSec Project installation itself. Scripts that save photos, screenshots, videos, recordings, logs, downloads, reports, backups, or other generated files can require additional storage.

Choose Your Platform

Tap the platform you use to open only its installation steps.

Termux (Android)

1. Install F-Droid

F-Droid is the recommended source for Termux and its add-ons.

  • Download F-Droid
  • Allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps if Android asks.
  • Open the downloaded F-Droid APK and install it.

2. Install Termux and add-ons

Install from F-Droid:

  • Termux
  • Termux:API
  • Termux:Styling

3. Update Termux and install Git

pkg update -y && pkg upgrade -y && pkg install git nano -y && termux-setup-storage

4. Clone DedSec

git clone https://github.com/dedsec1121fk/DedSec

5. Install DedSec

cd DedSec && bash Setup.sh

6. Launch DedSec later

cd ~/DedSec && ./Run.sh

After the first setup, choose your prompt, menu style and language, then run Save DedSec Project so a backup package is created. You can quickly open the English or Greek menu later by typing e or g in Termux.

Ubuntu

1. Install requirements

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y git python3 python3-venv python3-pip

2. Clone DedSec

git clone https://github.com/dedsec1121fk/DedSec

3. Run setup

cd DedSec && bash Setup.sh

4. Launch DedSec later

cd ~/DedSec && ./Run.sh

Setup.sh creates and uses the project-local .venv, keeping the distro-managed Python installation separate.

Kali Linux

1. Install requirements

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y git python3 python3-venv python3-pip

2. Clone DedSec

git clone https://github.com/dedsec1121fk/DedSec

3. Run setup

cd DedSec && bash Setup.sh

4. Launch DedSec later

cd ~/DedSec && ./Run.sh

Setup.sh uses the project-local .venv and keeps the system Python environment separate.

Linux Mint

1. Install requirements

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y git python3 python3-venv python3-pip

2. Clone DedSec

git clone https://github.com/dedsec1121fk/DedSec

3. Run setup

cd DedSec && bash Setup.sh

4. Launch DedSec later

cd ~/DedSec && ./Run.sh

Setup.sh creates the project-local .venv and does not replace the distro-managed Python installation.

Update An Existing Installation

cd ~/DedSec && git pull && bash Setup.sh

To update dependencies without opening the menu:

cd ~/DedSec && bash Setup.sh --update-only

Important Notes

  • Keep an internet connection enabled during the first install.
  • If you are already inside the DedSec folder, you do not need to clone the repository again.
  • Termux-specific Android utilities remain Android-only; desktop Linux uses the compatibility behavior documented in the project.
  • Desktop Linux launches through the project .venv; Termux uses its native Python/packages.

Website Help Paths

This follows the same starter/help path from the website index.html, but here the website buttons are written as normal linked text. Each link also shows the exact website path.

The best path to start is:

Start with installation, then review the tools and use Assistance when you need setup, compatibility, or troubleshooting help.

  • Guide For Installation — website path: Pages/guide-for-installation.html
  • Learn About The Tools — website path: Pages/learn-about-the-tools.html
  • Assistance — website path: Pages/assistance.html

Then download our free e-book:

ButSystem is one of the project’s most distinctive all-in-one systems, built specifically for the DedSec Project ecosystem. Despite that exclusive positioning, the version documented here is available free through the project files and repository, with no separate Store purchase required.:
