CVE-2023-5808

CVE-2023-5808 ist eine Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR)-Schwachstelle in der Backup & Restore-Funktionalität der System Management Unit (SMU) von Hitachi NAS (HNAS). Diese Schwachstelle betrifft SMU-Versionen vor 14.8.7825.01.

Ausnutzung

Dieser Exploit erfordert, dass der Angreifer die Kontrolle über die Anmeldeinformationen eines Benutzerkontos hat, das weder Read-Only noch Global Administrator ist, d. h.:

  • Storage Administrator
  • Server Administrator
  • Server + Storage Administrator
  • Designgemäß sollten Benutzer mit der Rolle Global Administrator auf die Backup & Restore-Funktionalität der SMU zugreifen können, die sich unter https://<HOSTNAME/FQDN/IP>/mgr/app/action/admin.SmuBackupRestoreAction/eventsubmit_doperform/ignored befindet, und die folgende Anfrage senden, die ein (unverschlüsseltes/passwortloses) Backup erstellen und herunterladen würde:

    Aufgrund eines Versehens in der Geschäftslogik der SMU kann ein Angreifer mit Zugriff auf ein Storage Administrator-, Server Administrator- oder Server + Storage Administrator-Konto die Cookies JSESSIONID und JSESSIONIDSSO aktualisieren, sodass sie mit den Cookies des in seinem Besitz befindlichen Benutzers übereinstimmen, was ihm das Herunterladen des Backup-Archivs ermöglicht.

    Daher könnte ein Skript wie CVE-2023-5808.py verwendet werden, um diese Schwachstelle auszunutzen:

    • Die /etc/shadow-Datei der SMU, die die CLI-Passwort-Hashes jedes Benutzers enthält,
    • PEM DSA-, PEM RSA- und OpenSSH RSA1-Private Keys,
    • PostgreSQL-Datenbank-Dump.
