Descrição do CVE-2022-41220

O md2roff 1.9 sofre de um estouro de buffer baseado em pilha (stack-based buffer overflow) por meio de um arquivo Markdown contendo um grande número de caracteres consecutivos a serem processados.

Reprodução

Para reproduzir a vulnerabilidade, baixe uma versão vulnerável do md2roff (versão 1.9):

Uma vez que o projeto esteja compilado, podemos processar um arquivo markdown malicioso produzido pelos nossos testes de fuzzing para reproduzir uma falha do programa:

Executar o comando anterior produzirá uma falha de segmentação (segfault):
