Isso é uma vulnerabilidade real?
Sim! Criptografe tudo. Permitir a degradação oportunista da criptografia é uma prática muito ruim.
A vulnerabilidade afeta MySQL 5.7.2 e versões anteriores, juntamente com MySQL Connector versões 6.1.2 e anteriores, todas as versões do Percona Server e todas as versões do MariaDB.
Correção?
Foi corrigido no MySQL 5.7.3 ... mas a correção de segurança não foi portada de volta para nenhuma outra versão, então se você estiver na 5.6 como 99,99% da Internet está, você está sem sorte a menos que mude para a "versão prévia" 5.7.
