Pylibemu é um wrapper para a biblioteca Libemu (https://github.com/buffer/libemu).
O Pylibemu > 0.5.8 não inclui mais o submódulo Libemu, portanto, você precisa instalar o Libemu antes de instalar o Pylibemu.
Para instalar o Libemu, basta executar:

$ cd libemu
$ autoreconf -v -i
$ ./configure
$ make
$ sudo make install
Depois que o Libemu estiver corretamente instalado, basta executar:

O Pylibemu 0.5.8 é a última versão com suporte para Python 2.
Para instalar o Pylibemu, basta executar:

O novo método 'run' do Emulator foi introduzido no Pylibemu 0.1.3, o que permite não se preocupar com detalhes. Além disso, o novo atributo offset do Emulator permite obter essas informações, se necessário.

O Emulator aceita o parâmetro opcional output_size, que define quanta memória será reservada para armazenar o dump do perfil de emulação. Por padrão, o tamanho é de 1MB, mas pode ser alterado de duas maneiras possíveis.

Se a memória reservada não for suficiente para conter o dump inteiro, o dump será truncado e o atributo emu_profile_truncated do Emulator será definido como True. Essa abordagem é necessária para não prejudicar o desempenho ao analisar alguns shellcodes que podem produzir dumps de vários MBs (como o Metasploit windows/download_exec). Se o dump inteiro for necessário, uma abordagem realmente simples pode ser verificar o atributo emu_profile_truncated após o teste de emulação do shellcode, aumentar a memória reservada por meio do método set_output_size do Emulator e, em seguida, executar novamente o teste de emulação do shellcode, como mostrado acima.
