Length         : 32
Format         : HEX
Type(s)        : MD5 / NTLM (possible) / LM Hash (possible)
Entropy        : 3.8750

  }
}

3. Batch Processing (Multiple Hashes)

python3 hasheye.py hash1 hash2 hash3

4. Process Hashes from File

Create a file hashes.txt:

5d41402abc4b2a76b9719d911017c592
aaf4c61ddcc5e8a2dabede0f3b482cd9aea9434d
e3b0c44298fc1c149afbf4c8996fb92427ae41e4649b934ca495991b7852b855

Then run:

python3 hasheye.py --file hashes.txt

5. Simple Output (No Details)

python3 hasheye.py 5d41402abc4b2a76b9719d911017c592 --simple

6. SHA-256 Hash Example

python3 hasheye.py e3b0c44298fc1c149afbf4c8996fb92427ae41e4649b934ca495991b7852b855

📊 Supported Hash Types

Hex Hashes

40SHA1, RIPEMD-160
56SHA224
64SHA256, SHA3-256, Blake2b-256, RIPEMD-256

🔍 Understanding the Output

Entropy

Entropy measures the randomness of a hash:

  • High (>3.5): Good randomness, likely a proper hash
  • Medium (2.5-3.5): Moderate randomness
  • Low (<2.5): Low randomness, possible weak hash or pattern

Security Levels

  • Strong: SHA-384, SHA-512 - Excellent security
  • Moderate: SHA-224, SHA-256 - Adequate for most use cases
  • Weak: MD5, SHA1, NTLM - Consider upgrading

Pattern Analysis

The tool detects:

  • Repeating characters: Same character appearing multiple times consecutively
  • Sequential patterns: Sequential numbers or characters
  • Case analysis: Mixed case, all lowercase, or all uppercase

🛠️ Advanced Usage

Integration with Scripts

HashEye can be integrated into your scripts using JSON output:

#!/bin/bash
result=$(python3 hasheye.py "$hash" --json)
hash_type=$(echo "$result" | python3 -c "import sys, json; print(json.load(sys.stdin)['types'][0])")
echo "Detected: $hash_type"

Python Integration

import subprocess
import json

def detect_hash(hash_string):
    result = subprocess.run(
        ['python3', 'hasheye.py', hash_string, '--json'],
        capture_output=True,
        text=True
    )
    return json.loads(result.stdout)

info = detect_hash('5d41402abc4b2a76b9719d911017c592')
print(f"Type: {info['types'][0]}")
print(f"Security: {info['security_level']}")

🐛 Troubleshooting

Issue: Colors not displaying

Solution: Your terminal may not support ANSI escape codes. Colors are optional and don't affect functionality.

Issue: "Unknown / Not a valid hash format"

Solution: Ensure your hash string contains only hexadecimal characters (0-9, a-f, A-F) or valid Base64 characters.

Issue: File not found

Solution: Use absolute paths or ensure you're in the correct directory when using --file option.
