Prerequisites
We highly recommend that you install the executable installers for your platform for an easy setup.
You can find it at the releases tab where each platform has an executable and a readme file.
Starting the application
To start the server open the start-up file that relates to your platform.
If you would like to do it manually, type the following in your terminal at your project directory:
- First build the project:
npm run build
- Then start the server:
npm start
Troubleshooting
Permission Errors
If you run into access denied permission errors even when using sudo, run the following:
rm -rf ./node_modules; npm i
If you clicked "prevent this from opening new dialog boxes" and can no longer create new nodes, your browser's popup blocker is preventing the application's input dialogs from appearing.
Chrome:
- Look for a popup blocker icon (🚫 or shield icon) in the address bar
- Click on it and select "Always allow pop-ups and redirects from [your site]"
- Refresh the page
Alternative Chrome method:
- Go to Settings → Privacy and security → Site Settings
- Click "Pop-ups and redirects"
- Under "Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects", click "Add"
- Enter your site URL (e.g.,
http://localhost:3000) and click "Add"
- Refresh the page
Firefox:
- Look for the shield icon in the address bar
- Click on it and turn off "Enhanced Tracking Protection" for this site
- Or click "Disable protection for this session"
- Refresh the page
Alternative Firefox method:
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security
- Scroll down to "Permissions" section
- Click "Block pop-up windows" → "Exceptions"
- Add your site URL and click "Allow"
- Refresh the page
Microsoft Edge:
- Look for the shield icon or popup blocker icon in the address bar
- Click on it and select "Allow pop-ups and redirects"
- Refresh the page
Alternative Edge method:
- Go to Settings → Site permissions → Pop-ups and redirects
- Under "Allow", click "Add"
- Enter your site URL and click "Add"
- Refresh the page
